Fakta Medis Vaksin HPV Tidak Menyebabkan Kemandulan, Jangan Terjebak Hoaks
Isu bahwa vaksin Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) dapat menyebabkan kemandulan kembali beredar di media sosial. Kabar ini membuat sejumlah orang tua ragu memberikan imunisasi HPV kepada anak perempuan mereka.

Namun, Kementerian Kesehatan (Kemenkes) menegaskan bahwa informasi tersebut hoaks. Kepala Biro Komunikasi dan Informasi Publik Kemenkes, Aji Muhawarman, memastikan vaksin HPV aman dan tidak berdampak buruk terhadap kesuburan.
“Itu hoaks lama. Vaksin HPV aman dan tidak menyebabkan kemandulan,” ujar Aji, Selasa (26/8/2025).
Efek Samping Vaksin HPV Normal dan Bersifat Ringan
Menurut Aji, efek samping vaksin HPV sangat ringan dan bersifat sementara, seperti:
- Kemerahan, bengkak, atau nyeri di area suntikan
- Demam ringan setelah vaksinasi
- Reaksi ini umumnya muncul satu hari setelah penyuntikan dan akan hilang dalam waktu dua hingga tiga hari.

Imunisasi HPV bertujuan untuk mencegah kanker serviks yang disebabkan oleh infeksi virus HPV. Efektivitas vaksin bisa mencapai hampir 100% bila diberikan dua dosis pada anak perempuan berusia 9-13 tahun.
Indonesia sendiri telah memasukkan vaksin HPV dalam program imunisasi nasional sejak 2023, mengikuti 135 negara lain seperti Malaysia, Singapura, Amerika Serikat, Inggris, dan Prancis.
Vaksin ini diberikan melalui program Bulan Imunisasi Anak Sekolah (BIAS) setiap bulan Agustus untuk anak perempuan sebelum lulus SD/MI.
Ahli Tegaskan Vaksin HPV Tidak Ganggu Sistem Reproduksi
Ketua Umum Perkumpulan Obstetri dan Ginekologi Indonesia (POGI), Yudi Mulyana Hidayat, juga menegaskan tidak ada bukti ilmiah yang mendukung anggapan bahwa vaksin HPV bisa menyebabkan kemandulan.
“Isu kemandulan akibat vaksin HPV hanyalah mitos. Secara ilmiah, vaksin ini aman dan tidak berdampak pada kesuburan,” jelas Yudi.
Sebaliknya, vaksin ini sangat penting untuk melindungi perempuan dari kanker serviks. Kasus alergi akibat komponen vaksin juga sangat jarang terjadi.

Kemenkes mengimbau masyarakat agar tidak termakan hoaks dan tetap mengikuti program imunisasi demi kesehatan generasi mendatang.
