Driver Ojol Tewas di Pejompongan, GMKI Siantar-Simalungun Kritik Polisi “Pembela Tikus Negara”
Gerakan Mahasiswa Kristen Indonesia (GMKI) Cabang Pematangsiantar-Simalungun mengecam keras tindakan represif aparat kepolisian yang menyebabkan tewasnya seorang pengemudi ojek online (ojol) saat aksi demonstrasi di Pejompongan, Jakarta Pusat.

Ketua GMKI Pematangsiantar-Simalungun, Yova Purba, menegaskan tindakan aparat tersebut bertentangan dengan konstitusi.
“Hal ini jelas melanggar Pasal 28 ayat (4) UUD 1945 yang menegaskan bahwa perlindungan, pemajuan, penegakan, dan penghormatan hak asasi manusia adalah tanggung jawab negara, terutama aparat penegak hukum,” ujarnya, Jumat (29/8/2025).
Yova juga menambahkan jika peristiwa tersebut melanggar Pasal 13 UU No. 2 Tahun 2002 tentang Kepolisian Republik Indonesia, yang menekankan bahwa tugas pokok kepolisian adalah memelihara keamanan, menegakkan hukum, serta memberikan perlindungan, pengayoman, dan pelayanan kepada masyarakat, bukan merenggut nyawa warga.
“Perbuatan itu juga bisa dijerat Pasal 351 KUHP tentang penganiayaan dan Pasal 359 KUHP tentang kelalaian yang mengakibatkan orang lain meninggal dunia,” tuturnya.
GMKI Siantar-Simalungun mendesak Kapolri untuk menindak tegas jajaran yang terlibat serta meminta maaf secara terbuka kepada keluarga korban.

Senada dengan itu, Ketua Bidang Aksi dan Pelayanan GMKI Siantar-Simalungun, Depandes Nababan, menyebut tindakan represif tersebut menyayat hati publik.
“Polisi yang seharusnya menjadi pelindung dan pengayom masyarakat malah berubah menjadi pembunuh rakyat demi membela para tikus negara,” ucapnya.
Depandes juga menyoroti penggunaan kendaraan dinas yang dibeli dari uang rakyat justru untuk menindas rakyat.

“Tindakan ini menunjukkan matinya rasa kemanusiaan di tubuh Polri. Permintaan maaf saja tidak cukup, harus ada tindakan tegas terhadap pelaku,” katanya mengakhiri.
